Welcome to the OPTISYS Careers Page.

Optisys is a leader in metal additively manufactured antennas, is growing. We are working with the largest aerospace companies in the world to provide mission-critical antennas for apace, aircraft, and ground vehicles. Our products connect the earth to missions on Mars, Venus, and the Moon, provide in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity for commercial airlines, and provide SATCOM connections for the most demanding military ground platforms.

We are growing and we are hiring.

Below are our current critical needs for talent. Please continue to visit this page as we will keep it updated as our needs change.

Please read through the full details of the descriptions below. If you have what we are looking for, use the “Apply Here” link to submit your information and you will be contacted shortly.

RF Antenna Design / Waveguide Electromagnetics Engineer

Optisys continues to grow with metal 3D printed antenna technology.

Exciting applications on fielded systems include:

  • Communications antennas for Lunar landers, Mars Orbiter, Venus Orbiter

  • UAV radar

  • Commercial Inflight Connectivity (IFC) SATCOM

  • Line-Of-Sight (LOS) UAV communications

We are looking for an antenna designer who designs RF components with waveguide technology in the 1 to 100 GHz frequency range.

We prefer expertise in HFSS with recent experience OR expertise in CST.

This role is for an individual who is open to additional learning and would relish the opportunity to immerse themselves in both project work and deeper RF theory to support our extensive IRAD activities.

This is a new role, due to the exponential increase in design work, specifically in electromagnetic antenna design. The successful candidate will directly report to the CTO.

Senior Configuration Manager

We are looking for a senior configuration management professional to develop and grow our configuration and document management procedures and practices.

Success for this role will be measured by:

  • Establishment of Change Control Board process.

  • Development of Optisys’ Configuration Management processes from current state to meet Aerospace Industry standards (AS9100, EIA-649 & MIL-STD-973).

  • Aiding Optisys’ selection and implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.

  • Managing day-to-day configuration changes to policies, procedures, engineering documentation, and manufacturing files.

The Senior Configuration Management Specialist reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for:

  • Company Configuration Management

  • Data Management

  • Change Control Board oversight.

Required: Current US Citizenship or Current Permanent Green Card Holder

Key Required Qualifications Include:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience with Configuration/Document/Change management including 5+ years working in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • Experience establishing and chairing Change Control Boards.

  • Experience selecting, implementing, and managing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience and track record preparing for Physical Configuration (PCA) and Functional Configuration (PCA) audits in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with EIA-649 & MIL-STD-973 CM principles.

Mechanical Engineer III, Aerospace Sector

Optisys is maturing and growing. As our programs are expanding, we are seeking more mechanical design engineering talent. This role is in an exciting new field of design for additive manufacturing.

Success will be measured by comparing performance against clear schedules and budgets on the various programs assigned to the ME III.

Optisys is pushing the envelope of what can be done with additive manufacturing and it requires a good deal of mechanical engineering expertise to get it right.

We are seeking someone who can quickly learn how to design for our particular additive manufacturing process and product set. They will need to document the design and process such that it is robust and can produce repeatable, successful results.

This is a new role, due to the exponential increase in design work, specifically in electromagnetic antenna design.

This role will report to the Director of Engineering and is located at the Optisys HQ in Salt Lake City, UT.

This is an opportunity to work on the leading edge of metal 3D printed antennas, which are a novel class of antennas that allow for pushing the limits of what physics allows in antenna design. Optisys antennas can be found all around the world and out of this world in space. This position requires creativity and exploration of difficult design challenges to solve problems.

Requirements include:

  • Current US Citizenship or Current Permanent Green Card Holder

  • 5+ years of working experience in aerospace Mechanical Engineering including mechanical design and documentation of aerospace components and systems

  • Demonstrated mastery of GD&T

  • Analysis experience to verify compliance with customer requirements in the following

    • Tolerance Analysis

    • Thermal Analysis

    • Structural Analysis

    • Other Relevant Analysis
